Eligibility for the Delhi Water Bill Settlement Scheme
Saurabh Bhardwaj, the minister of urban development for the Delhi government, has made it clear that the Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department was directed to present the department’s proposal to the cabinet in order to reduce water bills for approximately 10 lakh people who qualify for the Delhi Water Bill Settlement Scheme. But he flatly refused this offer.
Plan for Delhi Jal Board’s Pending Bill
There is a chance that the disagreement over the water bills of around 10.68 lakh people will result in a zero electricity bill for roughly 6.40 lakh people.
Let us inform you that on January 11, 2023, the board met and examined the Delhi Jal Board Scheme for Pending Bill. On June 13, 2023, the board met again and passed the scheme.
It is now anticipated that the charge created based on the customers’ metre readings will be regarded as accurate billing under the Delhi Water bill settling process. The Delhi Jal Board Scheme for Pending Bill has about 27 lakh 65000 clients in total, of which 10 lakh 68000 are those whose bill payments are overdue for various reasons.
Plans for DJB One-Time Settlements
There’s good news for Delhi residents: almost 10 lakh of these customers have already filed complaints over their water bills. And for good reason—people have stopped paying their water bills. For this reason, the government has enacted an integrated programme for these people to settle their water bills, pursuant to the DJB One-Time Settlement programme.
Let us inform you that the Delhi Jal Board will receive Rs 1400 crore in revenue if this Delhi Water Bill Settlement Scheme is put into action. In this regard, the Delhi Chief Minister has stated unequivocally that the citizens of Delhi need not be concerned about rising water rates.
