Paul Walter Hauser Reveals an Exciting New Development Regarding “The Fantastic Four” Four Super Heroes
The Fantastic Four, the next Marvel film, will be a period piece taking place in the 1960s, which adds to the film’s mystique and originality.
Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and The Fantastic Four are just a few of the 2025 Marvel titles that will demonstrate the studio’s dedication to producing high-quality entertainment.
A star of one of Marvel’s most anticipated projects of the year—and possibly of all time—has just shared some interesting new information.
In an interview with Variety, Paul Walter Hauser discussed his role in The Fantastic Four, an upcoming film by Marvel Studios. While Hauser has been cast in the picture for a while now, specifics regarding his character and that of his co-stars are still being kept under wraps.
Julia Garner’s casting as the Shalla-Bal Silver Surfer and Ralph Ineson’s portrayal of the cosmic evil Galactus are the only confirmed roles outside of Marvel’s First Family. This is what Hauser had to say when questioned about his training for The Fantastic Four:
Reading the script and comic books has been my pre-production reading. Determining my role in that narrative and making the most of my time within it is a significant portion of it. In a film, you should avoid making decisions or acting in a way that is unnecessary. You can’t just bring your own style to a project; you need to know what the film is and how everyone’s roles fit into it.
This is the kind of thing you’d like to hear from the lead actor of a major film. The Fantastic Four will also be a period piece, which means it needs to seem more unique and stand out as if it belongs on a new timeline. Kevin Feige recently confirmed this, ending years of fan uncertainty.
There are a number of Marvel period pieces set in different time periods; Captain Marvel takes place in the 1990s, Captain America: The First Avenger in the 1940s, and The Fantastic Four in the 1960s. The Fantastic Four’s enigmatization further adds to the mystery of how Marvel will reunite its most important heroes to the main MCU chronology, where they can collaborate with other heroes like as Doctor Strange (Tom Holland) and Spider-Man (Benedict Cumberbatch).
What Will Marvel Announce in 2025?
There are a lot of big films coming out of Marvel Studios this summer, including James Gunn’s Superman and The Fantastic Four, which will clash with one other a few weeks later. Anthony Mackie, Tim Blake Nelson, Harrison Ford, and Captain America: Brave New World are the main stars of the 2025 summer blockbuster.
Thunderbolts*, Marvel’s take on The Suicide Squad, will transport fans from Captain America 4 to The Fantastic Four in the role of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, as she guides a group of anti-hero outcasts on a perilous quest.
Even if Marvel Studios has announced plans to slow down production in order to focus on quality rather than quantity, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can still look forward to three feature films in a year and more Disney+ series on the way.
July 25, 2025 is when you can catch The Fantastic Four in theatres. Find your tickets to the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Deadpool & Wolverine, below and be sure to check back with Collider for more Marvel news.
