Government will soon begin the Jan Arogya Yojana, benefiting all citizens: CM
Agartala, February 5, 2024: In line with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), which aims to provide health insurance coverage to all segments of the state’s population in saturation mode, ensuring the security of their healthcare needs, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said on Monday that the state government has been consistently working towards enhancing the health infrastructure and is soon set to launch the state’s own Jan Arogya Yojana.
Dr Saha made these remarks while joining Health & Family Welfare Dr Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi for the inauguration of the National Dental Commission’s new office building and the planting of the cornerstones for four nursing colleges in the states of Andhra Pradesh and J&K.
According to Dr Saha, the opening of the National Dental Commission’s brand-new, state-of-the-art building is a historic occasion that symbolises our government’s resolve to enact revolutionary changes in the healthcare industry under the leadership of the visionary Prime Minister Modi.
It is more than just a physical structure made of bricks and mortar.
According to him, the state administration has been working tirelessly to improve the quality of the health infrastructure and the health education field.
We have recently founded the state’s only dental college. The Agartala Government Dental College has nine operational dental specialty departments and 50 student intake capabilities at the beginning of the academic year. High-tech equipment has been installed in classrooms and labs to complement modern teaching approaches. The main goal of my State government’s commitment to the health sector is to relieve the long-standing infrastructure limitations that the general public in the State faces.
He also disclosed that the largest referral hospital in the state had just undergone a makeover by the state government, which resulted in a nearly 200% increase in patient beds.
“The State of Tripura will soon initiate its own Jan Arogya Yojana, in accordance with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB – PMJAY), to furnish health insurance coverage security to every segment of the State’s population in saturation mode,” Dr. Saha stated.
Dr. Saha expressed gratitude and stated that the purpose of today’s activities is to bring in a new era for dental healthcare and education.
