Hugh Jackman Nearly Had a Raspy Turn in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ Deleted Scene (2024)
Fans of R-rated rides can appreciate the comedic antics of Wade and Logan in Deadpool and Wolverine, the sole Marvel Cinematic Universe film this year.
Hugh Jackman plays Wolverine again, delving into new character aspects without resorting to a nude dancing and singing sequence.
Marvel fans can look forward to cameos and surprises from both established characters like Sabretooth and Elektra and newcomers like Pyro.
For reviewers and fans alike, Deadpool and Wolverine is the most anticipated film of the year! Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are both joined to the MCU in this one film, which is Marvel Studios’ sole new release of the year. The fact that Shawn Levy’s picture is R-rated, like the original Deadpool films, is the finest part.
It fits Wade and Logan’s sensibilities and is in line with their comedic predecessors, so fans can already imagine the jokes and gags that will be in the feature. However, Reynolds and the studio have had a hard road creating the film, with numerous ideas tossed about. The actor recently disclosed details of a scene that was cut, where Wolverine was supposed to sing and dance!
An further unique aspect of Deadpool and Wolverine is that Hugh Jackman reprises his role as the character following his infamous retirement from it following 2017’s Logan. The producers have already said that Logan’s legacy will remain unbroken, so Jackman may play around with more of the well-known character. An option for Wolverine to dance to Elton John’s “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues” was revealed by Reynolds at a press conference (via Screen Rant). The notion was scrapped during the draft stage, even though it was a delicious opportunity.
On top of what Reynolds said, the Logan actor revealed that the sequence might have been even more intense because he’s heard rumours that it could have happened while Wolverine was “naked.” Throughout his stellar career in musicals, Jackman has been on stage and in film, so he is no stranger to singing and dancing. Spectators have witnessed his musical and dance talents in films such as Happy Feet, Les Misérables, The Greatest Showman, and he has won two Tony Awards. No R-rated film would dare have such a scenario, although the filmmakers would be prudent to set a limit!
Unveiling the Expectations Behind ‘Deadpool and Wolverine?’
Despite this, fans can expect a plethora of unexpected cameos from many corners of the Marvel universe, including Aaron Stanford as Pyro, Tyler Mane as Sabretooth, Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios, and the enigmatic Lady Deadpool. The film also featured a stellar ensemble, including Rob Delaney as Peter, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, and Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova.

It all starts on July 26 with Deadpool and Wolverine’s R-rated adventure. Take a look at the updated comments up there.
