Characters Beyond Geralt Getting a New Look in ‘The Witcher’ Season 4 (2019)
Season 4 of The Witcher is now filming, and it has revealed that Ciri has undergone a dramatic change, with a new hairstyle and tattoo.
The events surrounding Ciri’s tattooing serve to connect her past with The Rats and set the stage for a pivotal plot involving Leo Bonhart.
Season 4 will release in 2025, and production will begin for Season 5 soon after filming finishes in late 2024.
Redanian Intelligence has reported that production on Season 4 of The Witcher, a Netflix original series, is well underway, with various units operating in both the studio and on site. Ciri, played by Freya Allan, has undergone substantial character development, according to recent sources.
Ciri has a dramatic makeover in the next season, complete with a new hairstyle and a tattoo. Rumour has it that filming has already begun on the scenes showing Ciri getting her tattoo on her thigh; this sequence is suppose to relate to her stint with the band The Rats.
Ciri and the Rats stage a brief occupation of a tattoo parlour in the works of Andrzej Sapkowski. Mistle, who is seeing Ciri at the moment, gets a tattoo of a red rose on her inner thigh while they are dating. As a mark of their connection, Ciri chooses to get a matching tattoo. This event is pivotal in Ciri’s plot since it sets the stage for their meeting with the infamous bounty hunter Leo Bonhart.
Filming for the tattoo scene has begun on either episode 3 or 4 of the upcoming season, but when exactly Leo Bonhart will appear is still up in the air. If you played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you might remember Ciri’s tattoo from her time in Skellige. Playing the game, one can learn more about the tattoo and its meaning to Ciri.
Also unveiled is Ciri’s new hairstyle. It’s a shorter style than her previous ones, and it fits nicely with her character’s development; it’s a plain shoulder-length cut. Once Ciri encounters The Rats—who assault the baron’s daughter’s carriage—this transformation will presumably be on display.
Important turning points in Ciri’s story include her encounters with The Rats and her metamorphosis. On top of that, fans are wondering if the Netflix series will introduce the character Vysogota, who is pivotal to Ciri’s plot in the books. Later on, Ciri meets Vysogota, an elderly man who becomes a confidant and a safe haven.
