In an effort to support undergraduate and graduate students, the Odisha government is launching the Nua-O scholarship in advance of the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Male students would receive a yearly stipend of Rs 9,000 under this system, while female students will earn Rs 10,000.

Particularly, female students in these categories would receive Rs 11,000 annually, while male students from Nirman Shramik and SC/ST families will be eligible for Rs 10,000.

Importantly, this grant is not available to students whose parents are permanent government employees or income tax payers. Funds for the Nua-O scholarships for the current school year will be distributed starting on February 20 and should be finished that same month.
