The Maharashtra Stamp Duty Amnesty Scheme 2024 offers a complete abandonment or a rebate for Stamp Duty Fees and Penalty Amounts Imposed on Registered and Unregistered Citizens from January 1, 1980, to December 2020. Visit the official website at https://igrmaharashtra.gov.in/.
Following the November 26, 2024, Cabinet meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde decided to fully waive stamp duty and numerous other fees for goods and other items. The Abhay Yojana aims to increase state revenue and remove all records from the previous year.
Maharashtra Abhay Yojana for Stamp Duty 2024
The government has already announced the Amnesty Scheme in March and October through the Department of Goods and Services Tax. Under this, there were deadlines for paying obligations pertaining to GST and tax clearance. The Maharashtra Stamp Duty Abhay Yojana 2024 has now begun its first phase of implementation, which ends on January 31, 2024.

In the initial phase of the Abhay Yojana, stamp duty is 100% exempt and 100% penalised; after Rs. 1 lakh, stamp duty is 50% exempt and penalised. Stamp duty up to Rs. 1 lakh is exempt from duty in the second phase, and there is a penalty rebate. 40% Exemption and 70% Penalty Rebate are set for amounts over Rs. 1 lakh.
